We close out the weekend on a dry note under partly sunny skies & temperatures near normal. A soggy forecast is in store for the first half of this week as copious amounts of moisture lift north into our area bringing a healthy dose of rain Monday & Tuesday. Will see a few strong wind gusts, especially Tuesday along our ridge tops. Isolated thunderstorms & excessive rain could also result in high water problems for our southern & eastern mountain counties. A nice cool down & drier weather awaits for the second half of the work week. Next chance at rain is expected late Friday into the weekend.

Here is the 3-day rainfall forecast by the HPC. More than 2.5 inches are forecast in our eastern counties through Tuesday night. Rain showers are expected across our southern counties early Monday, lifting north & becoming more widespread later in the day. Tuesday will be very soggy. Leftover showers are expected Wednesday AM.
